Hi, I'm Allison Brie and this is my Women's Health Cover Shoot.
I first started strength training six and a half years ago.
I was spending a lot of time running, I was only doing cardio, and I just started to feel like I wanted that other thing.
I wanted to tone, I wanted to kind of change up what I was doing.
I feel just much stronger than I ever have.
I pretty much keep up strength training about three times a week.
I try to incorporate hiking and yoga and some different things.
I'm not just like, "Ah, I gotta lift!"
The biggest thing, I would say, is probably diet.
I usually eat probably four or five times a day.
I'm not one to eat really big meals throughout the day.
I like to cook, so I'll make turkey or chicken or salmon and a big salad and a roasted vegetable.
If I could give some advice to my younger self, I probably would be like, "You're beautiful! Enjoy your body!"
I remember in my 20s just always being so unhappy with my body.
My body was beautiful!
Perseverance is the key to everything.
Know your self-worth and perpetuate it yourself.
You kind of can't count on validation from others.
